NG-4: Level 4 Natural Gas Characterization

Applications: Useful for high precision differentiation of similar gases such as identifying compartmentalization within one producing reservoir. Most commonly used in oil and gas exploration and production operations.

Sample size required: Depends on concentrations. Pentanes must exceed 0.15% concentration each and there should be sufficient sample to provide at least 0.5cc (STP) of each of these components, plus the amount needed for NG-1, NG-2 and NG-3.

Analyses included: All analyses in NG-1, NG-2 and NG-3 plus determination of δ¹³C of iC₅H₁₂ and δ¹³C of nC₅H₁₂.
