Sampling Products
Because Isotech understands that providing customers with the best possible data begins with the best possible sampling containers, we developed the IsoTube®, IsoJar® IsoPak™, IsoTrap® and IsoFlask®. We also offer other high-quality sampling products to assist our customers with the sampling process.
The IsoTube is the industry standard for mudgas sampling.
The IsoJar is ideal for sampling cuttings and mud from drilling operations.
The IsoPak is designed for sampling soil or other outgassing solids.
The IsoTrap provides an elegant solution for determining the sulfur isotopic ratio of H2S.
We rent cylinders for sampling gas at pressures up to 1800 psig.
The IsoFlask is the most accurate way of collecting dissolved gas samples.[1]
The IsoBag has been tested for isotopic integrity of hydrocarbons over multiple months. It is ideal for soil gas sampling and any other sampling at atmospheric conditions
The IsoScrubber is designed to scrub sour gas samples for subsequent isotopic analysis.
What kind of container do I need for…?
Below are some basic guidelines for what container is best for your situation. The container that best fits your need will depend largely on the sampling conditions and below is only a guideline. If you are not sure what to use please call us and ask for recommendations. Your specific situation may require adaptation from the standard sampling procedures. Sample size requirements can be found on the specific analysis page.
Produced gas: Cylinders or IsoTubes. Both are good sampling containers for this application. We rent cylinders or if you have your own cylinders they are a good option if you have only a few samples take. If you only have a few samples to analyze, cylinders will be less expensive to use. IsoTubes have the advantage of being lighter to ship. Please reference the two sampling instructions to see if one method fits your situation better: cylinder, IsoTube
Mudgas or headspace gas while drilling: IsoJars or IsoTubes are the best method for this sampling. If you are collecting mud or cuttings the IsoJar is the ideal container. If you are collecting mudgas from a trap above the mud the IsoTube is the industry standard. Please note some other considerations mentioned in our FAQ sheet.NEED TO PUT LINK HERE
Soil gas samples from a soil probe would be a low pressure gas source for which the IsoBags are ideal.
Headspace gas from water wells can be collected with IsoBags.
Ambient gas capture is ideally performed with IsoBags.
Dissolved gas samples of groundwater from pressurized systems, such as residential households, is ideally collected with an IsoFlask.
Dissolved gas samples from surface water or seeps depend on the situation. Please see these sampling instructions to determine which fits your situation the best: IsoJar seep, IsoBag funnel.
Water samples should be collected in an air tight plastic HDPE or glass bottles. Sampling considerations for Water samples can be found here.Need Link Here
Solid samples can be sent in vials, pouches, bags or any container that will not contaminate the sample in question.
Oils and other organic liquids should be sent in glass bottles with teflon caps. |
