Nitrogen Isotope Analysis (15N/14N or δ15Ν)
Nitrogen isotopic compositions can be carried out on the nitrogen in a gas mixture using compound-specific isotope analysis. For groundwater, nitrate is extracted and converted into AgNO3 using ion exchange techniques. Solids and other liquids are analyzed for nitrogen characterization using an elemental analyzer interfaced with an isotope ratio mass spectrometer.
