MG-2: Level 2 Mudgas Analysis
Applications: Useful in providing further information on maturation levels and migration barriers. Allows better correlation between wells and different stratigraphic units.
Minimum hydrocarbon concentrations: CH4 must exceed 500ppm, C2H6 200 ppm, and C3H8 200 ppm. Lower concentrations of C2H6 and C3H8 may be analyzed with cryogenic enrichment. Please call for further information on concentration limits for enrichments.
Analyses includes: All analysis in the MG-1 plus determination of the δ13C of CH4, C2H6 and C3H8 by compound specific GC-C-IRMS (gas chromatography-combustion-isotope ratio mass spectrometry)
